An excellent and festive study to bring into your home during October. A Child's Guide to All Things Spooky is jam-packed full of different lessons, recipes, and crafts to learn about this holiday's history and some spooky topics. This study is secular, but Halloween has a cultural and religious back story that isn't considered secular, so please keep that in mind when purchasing. The guide is aimed at 1st to 6th graders, with some extensions for grades 6-8 included. The extensions usually involve a deeper dive into the subject and are a little more "intense."

This guide will contain many topics to teach your children about Halloween and the extra spooky stuff that comes with it. Below are some examples of what will be covered in this guide.

* The Black Plague
* The Salem Witch Trials
* Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster
* Classic Monsters (Vampire, Werewolf, Frankenstein, zombies)
* The History of Halloween
* Area 51 and Extra Terrestrials
* The History of Jack O Lanterns
* Day of the Dead History and Celebration
Biography Studies for ...
* Edgar Allen Poe
* R.L. Stine

New Lessons Included:

* The Terrifying Side of Mummies

* Ghost and Paranormal Activity

* Cryptid Legends

* Creepy Deadly Plants

Spooktacular!

3rd and 4th grade doing this unit study for the month of October. They are truly enjoying it as is and some sections we go into more in depth. The book list is the ultimate October spooky list.

Not really what I was expecting!

It was really hard for my kids to get into. The stories chosen to go with the lessons just weren’t all that engaging. We picked out a few of the activities and just did those separately but I don’t feel like much of the information was absorbed by my kids.
